Sarah Guppy

Sarah Guppy’s art career has spanned four decades and employed a diverse range of media. She studied fine arts and graphic design at AUT and continued her studies in London at Morely College. While in London Sarah was apprentice gilder at Christina Leder's gilding studio and later, at Carvers and Gilders of Wandsworth, where she worked on many prestigious projects. On her return to New Zealand she attended Auckland Studio Potters, studying with Peter Lange and Peter Stichbury, developing a fascination with ceramics. More recently Sarah has been carving in plaster, creating bas relief and exploring abstraction using pigment and mixed medium.
