Late artist Eion Stevens gifts thousands of paintings to charity

Thousands of paintings by late Christchurch artist Eion Stevens that were initially feared lost after his death could be worth millions of dollars and have been left to charity.

Stevens generously left over 2000 of his paintings and prints for the benefit of charity. Instructions about the location of the art collection were found in Eion’s will. This is a remarkable gift from a humble artist.
